About KC Weddings & Events
Kara “Kara Poppins” Cardinal, CWP and CCO (Chief Creative Officer)
Kara has been planning weddings and events for over half a decade. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Education and a Wedding Planning Certification from The Bridal Society. Kara regularly participates in ongoing education and networking opportunities to stay current with industry trends. Her uncanny ability to think on her feet (which she credits to being a teacher and nanny), along with her ever flowing creativity, allows her clients to dream up some of the biggest, unique, and over-the-top ideas! She is a visionary at making many moving parts flow together with ease and always delivers a vision and a plan to match.

Susan “Savvy Susan” Gard, CWP & ACO (Associate Creative Officer)
Susan grew up in the Northeast and has always been in love with events – who doesn’t love a great party?! After getting her degree in Screenwriting & Producing from The School of Visual Arts in New York City she was off to tell stories through celebration. Using her ambition and ingrained need for organization and efficiency she was quick to get involved in any event that she could in and around the five boroughs.
When she is not making it all happen for her clients she spends her days getting snacks for her kids, folding the near constant barrage of laundry, and snuggling with her hubby. She enjoys long walks on the beach, eating dessert for breakfast, and watching movies without being interrupted. Susan lives in Fort Myers, FL with her husband, two daughters, and lovable curmudgeon of a dog.

Brian is Kara’s husband of eight years and Behind The Scenes guru. He helped to start KC Weddings & Events as the CFO (dealing with all the “icky” stuff that Kara didn’t want to do) and Kara’s personal wedding day assistant. With the passage of time and experience, Brian realized he passion for helping others and started his own company as a consultant for small businesses.
His formal education in Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship, as well as his many years spent working in the world of finance in an engaged, client-facing role as an investment consultant, helped successfully launch KC Weddings & Events.
In his spare time, (which isn’t much), Brian loves to spend time with the family on Keywadin Island, where his pups can play, Kara can relax in the Florida sun, and he can fish for redfish, snook, or whatever wants to bite!

Fave Quote: “I feel the need, the need for speed.” Maverick, Top Gun
We have been designing weddings and events since 2013. From hotels and country clubs to estates and private homes, we’ve planned them all. Each event brings its own unique challenges and planning at a private estate is completely different from planning at a hotel. There is absolutely no substitute for experience.
